The Dimapur District Congress Committee (DCC) on Wednesday launched the Indian National Congress’ nationwide ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ (Students’ Outcry) campaign in Dimapur, highlighting what it described as the growing crisis in India’s education system and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over repeated examination irregularities.

Addressing a press conference at Congress Bhavan, DCC president Kutoho Chishi said recurring question paper leaks, examination irregularities, delayed recruitment processes and administrative failures had severely undermined the aspirations of students and job seekers across the country.
He alleged that hardworking students were paying the price for corruption, incompetence and the failure of authorities to ensure a transparent and credible examination system.
“The future of the nation depends on its youth. Every deserving student has the right to fair examinations, affordable education and dignified employment,” Chishi said, adding that the Congress’ nationwide campaign aims to amplify students’ concerns and ensure that their voices are heard.
State Minority Congress chairman Javed Sarwar said the campaign was launched to safeguard the interests of students and young people, whom he described as the nation’s greatest asset. He expressed concern over rising youth unemployment and alleged that repeated paper leaks and a lack of accountability had deprived students of justice despite years of preparation for competitive examinations.
NSUI Nagaland president X Chophika said the campaign reflected the frustration of millions of students facing repeated examination delays, paper leaks, rising educational costs and unemployment.
Referring to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), he claimed that repeated allegations of paper leaks and examination irregularities had shaken the confidence of students and their families. He also said Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi recently interacted with students in Kota as part of the nationwide campaign to raise their concerns.
The DCC also demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him morally responsible for what it described as repeated failures that had undermined the integrity of the country’s education and examination system.
Following the press conference, the DCC screened Rahul Gandhi’s speech delivered in Kota for students and conducted a signature campaign in support of the nationwide movement.
