Dimapur, 30 July (MTNews): The 8th Nagaland Shooting Championship 2023 organized by Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy, Khelo India Centre, Dimapur and conducted by Nagaland Rifle Association was held from 24–28 July 2023 at Aries Sports Complex Shooting Ranges, Bamunpukhuri-A, Dimapur.
A total of 64 shooters, including 43 Men and 21 Women from Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, Chümuokedima and Peren participated in 31 events.
Dimapur district was adjudged the Champion with 14 Gold,13 Silver and 8 Bronze followed by Kohima 8 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze, Mokokchung 7 Gold, 6 Silver and 4 Bronze, Chümoukedima 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze, Peren 1 Bronze.
During the championship, 29 shooters qualified to participate at the 10th North East Zone Shooting Championship 2023 to be held in Shillong from 20-27 August.
