Dimapur, November 5 (MTNews): The Dimapur Government College held its first intra-collegiate Annual Literary Fest, Poiesis on November 4, 2022 at the DGC campus under the theme – Poiesis 2022: Connect. Convey. Convince.

 

 

 

The fest, initiated by the English department and jointly organized by the Performing & Fine Arts Club and the Literati Club, DGC, and funded by the College & IQAC, DGC, included literary and painting competitions, as well as a short play “The Pot of Gold,” written and directed by I. Suzzana Yaden, recently retired faculty in English, DGC.

 

The contestants of the poetry recitation competition recited a selection of poems from Prof. Temsula Ao’s most beloved collection “Songs” as a special tribute to the late Prof. Temsula Ao, the doyen of Naga poetry in English.
The fest also included a lively and instructive workshop for the English Honours students of DGC on the topic “Speak with Confidence” which was conducted by T. Imsunaro Ao, Associate Professor, department of Functional English, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.
