The Skill Development Committee of Dimapur Government College (DGC), in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a One-Day State Level Workshop on “Beauty, Self-Care and Wellness” at the College Seminar Hall on Wednesday. The workshop was attended by 54 participants, including faculty members and students, and aimed to raise awareness on self-care, grooming, and holistic well-being.

The workshop commenced with Kilangsungla Pongener, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education, DGC, serving as Chairperson. She highlighted the relevance of self-care in modern lifestyles and introduced the resource person along with the day’s planned activities.

Hukali Avito Swu, a renowned makeup artist, beauty educator, and former cabin crew professional, conducted the session. She invited volunteers for live demonstrations on makeup, facial care, and waxing, with seven faculty members participating. Students enrolled in the college’s two-month Beauty Crash Course assisted in demonstrating makeup, facial, hairstyling, waxing, and threading techniques.

During the workshop, Swu shared insights on skincare routines, makeup application techniques including foundation blending, use of setting powder, eyelash enhancement, and choosing the correct foundation shade. She also demonstrated facial massage techniques using a Gua Sha tool.

The session continued with waxing, hairstyling, and threading demonstrations on the volunteers. Participants actively engaged with questions, which were addressed thoughtfully by the resource person. The interactive and informative session received positive feedback from all attendees, enhancing knowledge and skills in self-care and wellness practices.
