Dimapur, 22 March (MTNews): The Jal Shakti Team of Dimapur Government College organized a walkathon to commemorate World Water Dayon in line with global celebrations on 22 March 2024 under the theme “Water for Peace.”
A brief program took place at the tri-junction in Duncan Colony, where Lhipe Naro, Assistant Professor, delivered a speech and flagged off the walkathon. This was followed by a prayer led by Amongla Jamir, Assistant Professor. The walkathon, aimed at raising awareness about water conservation, concluded in the college campus.
The program wrapped up with another sensitization session led by Dr Rukuoviu, Assistant Professor, and a short speech by Dr G Phukato Sema, Assistant Professor, and convenor of the Jal Shakti Team. Dr Sema spoke on the theme, emphasizing our collective responsibility to preserve water.
