State sets target to skill 5,000 youth; top recruiters join as Eagle Crest expands training campus

A Mega Hospitality Job Fair was held on Friday at the newly inaugurated East Campus of Eagle Crest Institute, Purana Bazar, Dimapur. Organized by Eagle Crest Training Academy & Consultancy in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland, the event was part of the Chief Minister’s flagship programme under the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM).

The job fair brought together hundreds of youth and recruiters from leading national and international hospitality firms, including ITC, Treebo, Oberoi, Deltin, HR India Overseas, and others.
The event also marked the expansion of Eagle Crest’s training infrastructure for hospitality and tourism.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of IDAN, announced that the state has set an initial target of skilling 5,000 youth under NSEDM in the first year. He also informed that the government is providing skill loans ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 1 lakh, along with subsidies and microfinance assistance for trained entrepreneurs through the Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Scheme to support aspiring entrepreneurs after their training and work experience.

“There are no shortcuts to success,” Metha said. “Excellence can only be achieved through consistent effort and empowerment through knowledge.”

Representing Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Metha conveyed the CM’s appreciation and stated that the government is committed to preparing youth for global opportunities and employment. He urged the youth to use the internet wisely, avoid spreading misinformation, and become “positive ambassadors of Nagaland.”

CEO of ECTAAC, Temjenkala Aier, said the job fair was “not just an event, but a mission to empower Naga youth and connect them to global hospitality opportunities.”

The event saw participation from hospitality recruiters, students from various districts, and training partners from across India and abroad. The programme was chaired by Ayani Kikon, Soft Skills Trainer and Editor-in-Chief of ECTAAC. Opening and closing prayers were delivered by Alem Yaden and Among Aier, respectively.

The job fair is being seen as a significant step towards addressing youth unemployment in Nagaland by linking local talent with national and international employers in the hospitality sector.
