MGM College conducted a Faculty Development Workshop on “Academic Writing and AI Tools in Research” on July 10 at the college auditorium to strengthen faculty research and promote the ethical use of artificial intelligence in academic work.

The workshop was attended by faculty members, Principal Dr. R.K. Behera and Administrator Fr. Shaiju Philip.

The programme featured two technical sessions. Dr. Sangeeta Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education, spoke on writing research articles for publication. She discussed manuscript preparation, publication ethics, journal selection and strategies for publishing in reputed peer-reviewed and Scopus-indexed journals.

The second session was led by Jemsungba Walling, IQAC Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the Department of English, who demonstrated the effective and ethical use of AI tools in academic writing and research. He highlighted responsible AI practices, literature review, citation management, research productivity and the importance of maintaining academic integrity.

Both sessions were followed by an interactive question-and-answer session.

Addressing the participants, Principal Dr. R.K. Behera encouraged faculty members to strengthen the institution’s research culture and publish regularly in quality journals. He urged them to make responsible use of emerging AI technologies to enhance teaching, learning and research excellence, adding that continuous professional development is essential for academic and institutional growth.
