Dimapur, 24 July (MTNews): The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) carried out a spot verification at the District Hospital in Dimapur on July 21 as part of its examination of the C and AG (Comptroller and Auditor General) Report of India for the year 2018-19.
Led by PAC Chairman and Advisor of Agriculture Department, Mathung Yanthan, the committee members included Dr Neisatuo Mero MLA, Y Mankhao Konyak MLA, and Lima Onen Chang MLA. The inspection encompassed a thorough assessment of the hospital’s facilities, medical equipment, telecommunications, and all health units.
Addressing the media personnel present during the verification visit, PAC Chairman Mathung Yanthan elucidated the purpose behind the committee’s physical examination of the hospital’s performance in light of the CAG report’s findings. The report stemmed from a performance audit conducted by the Comptroller and Auditor General for the fiscal year 2018-19.
Acknowledging the issues that surfaced during the verification, Yanthan assured that the PAC’s recommendations would be earnestly brought to the attention of the concerned department.
Yanthan emphasized that the recommendations will be diligently followed and commended the hospital’s management and health service providers for their dedication and efforts despite the challenges they face, given that Dimapur is a metropolitan city with a substantial patient load. He encouraged all medical staff to continue delivering their best, keeping in mind that health service is of utmost importance in one’s life.
