MTNews Desk | Dimapur, 22 December: Dimapur Police has arrested all seven individuals accused in connection with the assault of three persons at Thahekhu village in the early hours of December 17. The police also seized the two weapons – one AK-47 Rifle and one pistol – which were allegedly used for threatening and assaulting the victims.

Police said a regular case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Sub-Urban Police station, Dimapur on 17 December, and intensive investigation is ongoing.

Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie, addressed a press conference on the matter.

The arrested persons have been identified as Khetovi Yeptho (28), son of Toniho Yeptho from Nikhekhu village, Niuland district; Itovi Yeptho (39), son of Visheto Yeptho from Sukhalu village in Zunheboto; Atoka Sumi (37), son of Hevukhu Sumi from Akuluto, Zunheboto; Kakuho Achumi (26) (SS 2nd Lt of the NSCN-R (Akato Group), son of Honito from Yezami, Zunheboto; Jonathan Ngade (45) (SS Lt. Col. NSCN –R (Akato Group), son of Kele Ngade from Purul, Senapati; Lumtsaba Sangtam (30) (SS Lt. NSCN- R (Akato Group), son of Hotingse from Yangziton, Kiphire; and Holuvi Yeptho (34) SS Lt. NSCN- R (Akato Group), son of Asaac Yeptho from Lizu, Zunheboto.
