In a thrilling Grand Finale at IG Stadium, Kohima, Dimapur SC produced a fearless and disciplined performance to dethrone defending champions Headhunters FC with a 2–1 victory, clinching the championship title before a roaring crowd.

Dimapur SC crowned champions

Dimapur SC started with high intensity and found the breakthrough just three minutes into the match when Nangshang converted a precise finish, catching Headhunters off guard. Maintaining their attacking momentum, Dimapur doubled their advantage in the 11th minute as Rhitsho displayed composure inside the box to make it 2–0, sending their supporters into early celebration.

The defending champions, however, regrouped after halftime and came out stronger. Their efforts paid off in the 55th minute when Haotingmang pounced on a loose ball and smashed home a goal to reignite hopes of a comeback. Despite mounting pressure from Headhunters in the final stages, Dimapur SC held their defensive shape and managed the game effectively to preserve their lead.

As the final whistle sounded, Dimapur SC stood firm to script history, ending Headhunters FC’s reign as champions. The final score stood at Headhunters FC 1–2 Dimapur SC, with goals from Haotingmang (55’), Nangshang (3’), and Rhitsho (11’). Dimapur SC emerged as the new rulers of Nagaland football.
