On the fifth day of the Phom Moonyiü festival, the Dimapur Yachem Bühü Pangthai organized a special Moonyiü program on April 5, 2025, at its Morung located at the residence of former Minister S Pangnyu Phom, Eralibill Village, Dimapur.
The event was generously hosted by Gazetted Officers of Yachem residing in Dimapur.
Speaking on the occasion as the special guest, S Yongchang Phom, Director of Agriculture, Nagaland, Kohima, exhorted the gathering to uphold the spirit of togetherness, show hospitality towards others, and cultivate the will to serve for the common good and progress of society.
He also urged the youth to carry forward the good legacy of their elders and to be vigilant and confident in taking up responsibilities to bring about holistic changes in all aspects of life.
An invocation prayer was pronounced by Shri Y. Konnyei, Home Evangelist, PBAD. The welcome address was delivered by President Shri O. Yanger Phom, and the significance of the festival was highlighted by C. Hamba Nemdakly.
Dimapur Yachem Anüti Lunglak presented a modern folk song, while an act play on Ajibangkhüm — the origin of Moonyiü — was performed by the Dimapur Yachem Students’ Union.
The program was chaired by O. Hamshong and Enyuh and culminated with a prayer by M. Nyeiphen, Fellowship Incharge, followed by indigenous games and a Moonyiü feast.
