The Directorate of Health & Family Welfare celebrated Advent Christmas on December 17, 2025, at the Directorate Lobby, observing the occasion with prayers, thanksgiving, and hope for blessings.

Rev. Kedo Peseyie, Pastor of City Church Kohima, graced the event and delivered the Christmas message. Drawing on 1 Timothy 1:15, he stated, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.” He emphasised that Christmas should be celebrated by embracing the virtues of Christianity and commemorating the birth of the Messiah, who came to save sinners.
Dr. Mereninla Senlem, Principal Director, conveyed Christmas greetings and said, “Despite acknowledging the commercial nature of modern Christmas, one must not forget its true meaning of spreading light, peace and the ethics associated with the birth of Christ.” She encouraged staff to foster a positive and collaborative environment through small gestures of kindness, empathy, and honesty, and to be a source of joy and peace during the festive season.
For the first time, the Directorate acknowledged the Best Employee of the Year 2025 across categories. The awards went to M. Meguosonuo UDA for Best Ministerial Staff, Tasi for Best MTS, and Pradip Sunchuri for Best Driver.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Menguzenuo Margaret Yhome, Director (FW), with the invocation by S. Tiakala Longkumer, Deputy Director (Nursing), and the benediction by Dr. Keveduyi Theyo, MD NHM. Officers and staff from the Directorate, vertical programmes, NHM, NSACS, and NHPS attended, fostering fellowship and unity during the celebrations.
