Mokokchung, September 25 (MTNews): The Concerned Citizen’s Forum Mokokchung (CCFM) on Sunday stated that it is convinced that when the Government of India has already declared to the world that ‘Naga problem is political problem’, it clearly imply political solution by any standard.

CCFM in a press release appended by Temjen Paul, convenor, and Limasashi, co-convenor added that the signing of the Framework Agreement is an outcome of political negotiations under which final settlement will be arrived at. “With the given background, there is no dubiety that any discourse on the Naga flag and ‘Yezabo’ constitution must end with political proprieties,” CCFM stated.

CCFM stated that it is a positive step with genuine concern that the Naga negotiators have once again responded to the ardent call of the Naga people to continue and pursue the long pending Indo-Naga political settlement in spite of the GoI dilly-dallying tactics towards resolving the problem.

“During the long 25 years of cease fire and political negotiations, not only the Naga negotiators but the entire Naga people, irrespective of political boundaries, have taken the pain in nurturing the hard earned democratic space for peace and honourable solution,” CCFM maintained.

CCFM went on to say that, for more than seven decades, “Naga people have suffered in the hands of the Indian security forces, many thousands have been killed and generations dehumanized” and added that now is the opportune time for all to come together and pursue “our rightful place for a common Naga future with a new relationship for all.”

“One cannot just cry for the sake of settlement but for ‘Just Peace and honourable settlement’ once and for all,” it stated.
