Kohima, 5 June (MTNews): The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) of Kohima and Tseminyu districts held a joint meeting at the DPDB hall in Kohima today. The meeting aimed to discuss the effective implementation of centrally sponsored schemes and address key development issues in Kohima and Tseminyu districts.

 

 

 

 

MP Tokheho Yepthomi stressed the importance of strategic utilization of centrally sponsored schemes amidst changing funding policies. He called for awareness programs to familiarize stakeholders with the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).

 

The Project Director of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Kohima, highlighted achievements and ongoing activities, focusing on projects such as MGNREGA, 15th FINANCE, NSRLM, and PMAY-(G). MGNREGA, which guarantees a hundred days of guaranteed wage employment for rural households, was particularly emphasized.

 

Updates on road development projects were provided by the Executive Engineer of PWD (R&B). The MP urged officers to maximize funding in the Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for road construction.

 

Regarding the Jal Jeevan Mission under the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department, officials reported 70 percent completion. The MP encouraged completing the remaining work within the stipulated time frame.

 

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) presented reports on health centers and ongoing programs, addressing the eradication of leprosy, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS. The MP emphasized the importance of preventive measures and active surveillance to counter social stigma.

 

Representatives from the Tribal Affairs department provided updates on various schemes, including Article 275(1), SCA-TSS, EMRS, PMAGY, and TRI.

 

The joint DISHA meeting facilitated coordination for the effective implementation of central schemes in Kohima and Tseminyu districts, contributing to overall development and welfare.
