Mokokchung, 28 May (MTNews): The District Employment Exchange/Model Career Centre Mokokchung, Nagaland organized a highly successful Career Guidance program today at Ladybird School, Mokokchung.

The program, aimed at promoting the National Career Service under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, saw enthusiastic participation from Classes 9 &10 students, stated a press release issued by Yapang Jamir, Young Professional, Ministry of Labour and Employment under National Career Service Project.

The program was graced by Dr. Imchanaro, Academic In-Charge of Ladybird School, who delivered an enlightening address that set a positive tone for the seminar.

Dr. Imchanaro emphasized the importance of early career guidance in shaping the future of young students and the significant role educational institutions play in this endeavour.

The highlight of the event was the Career Guidance session presented by Yapang Jamir who captivated the students with discussion on career selection based on the RIASEC Model, a renowned framework for career counselling. This model, which categorizes careers based on six personality types—Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional—provided the students with a structured approach to understanding their personal strengths and aligning them with potential career paths.

He stated, “Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions a young person will make. The RIASEC Model helps students understand their inherent skills and interests, guiding them towards a fulfilling professional journey.”
