The District Hospital, Peren, inaugurated a Birth Waiting Home (BWH) for pregnant women within the hospital premises on April 21, 2025.
The dedication programme was officially launched by Dr Niriethono Zetsuvi, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Peren.
Dr Meningsiliu Rentta, Junior Specialist (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), highlighted the benefits and facilities of the Birth Waiting Home, emphasizing its importance in improving maternal and neonatal health outcomes.
Dr Avika P Jimo, Medical Officer (AYUSH), chaired the programme and delivered the keynote address.
The event was attended by members of the Zeliang Officers’ Association Nagaland (ZOAN), the student community, medical professionals, and ASHAs.
The dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Lungtongbo, Pastor of Liangmai Baptist Church, Peren.
