The District-Level Inter-Collegiate Competition in Debate and Youth Parliament was held in Wokha on August 6 under the aegis of the District Youth Resource Office, Wokha, in collaboration with NSS and NYKS.

This programme was part of the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme 2025, themed “The Emergency Period in India.”

In the debate competition, Shyerhunle Seb from Mt. Tiyi College won first place on the Against side, while Lansothung Jami from Bailey Baptist College, Wokha, secured first place for the Motion side.

In the Youth Parliament competition, Mhabeni Ezung from Mt. Tiyi College took first place, followed by Tumchobeni M. Kikon from Bailey Baptist College, Wokha, in second, and Nchumbemo Ezung from Mt. Tiyi College in third.

Rhukumo Kikon, Councillor and Convenor of Urban Planning and Development, graced the occasion as the special invitee.

The programme was chaired by K. Libemo Jami, Assistant Director of Youth Resources and Sports, with the welcome address delivered by T. Penthungo Lotha, Principal of Bailey Baptist College.

C. Yanpothung Humtsoe and Ekonbeni M. Tsanglao served as moderators for the debate and Youth Parliament competitions, respectively.

Feedback was provided by A. Loreno Tsanglao, and the vote of thanks was delivered by L. Achumbeni Humtsoe.

Dr. Longshibemo Yanthan, A. Loreno Tsanglao, and Hokanili Sumi served as the panel of judges.
