A district-level Padyatra was held at the Town Hall, Mokokchung, on 25th November 2025, to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the “Iron Man of India.” The event was organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in partnership with the Mokokchung District Administration.

The programme was chaired by EAC Neithozo Theunuo, who highlighted various activities conducted under the Padyatra initiative. Local artists Imtilong and Imkumnaro enhanced the event with special song presentations.
The Assistant Commissioner of Mokokchung, Ajay Moktan, IAS, administered the Unity Pledge, reinforcing national integration values among attendees. After the formal programme, Senior Superintendent of Police Vesupra Kezo officially flagged off the Padyatra march, which proceeded from the Town Hall to the BOC area in Sungkomen Ward.
The march saw enthusiastic participation from district officials, Assam Rifles personnel, youth representatives, and general citizens. The event honored the legacy of Sardar Patel and highlighted the community’s commitment to national unity and harmony.
