A district-level training on population-based Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screening was conducted at the Conference Hall of CHC Jalukie under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, and Stroke (NPCDCS).


Dr Viholi, District Programme Officer (NCD), welcomed the resource persons and participants, emphasizing the significance of the training in strengthening community health interventions.

Delivering an overview of the NCD programme, Dr. Alemwapang, State Programme Officer (NPCDCS), highlighted that non-communicable diseases account for approximately 63% of deaths in India, according to a 2018 WHO report. He elaborated on the key components of population-based screening, a new initiative under NPCDCS aimed at early detection of hypertension, diabetes, oral cancer, breast cancer, and cervical cancer among individuals aged 30 and above.

Participants were trained on the Community-Based Assessment Checklist (CBAC), registration procedures in the Family Folder, and the use of the NCD App for effective data management. The State NCD team conducted hands-on sessions on NCD portal mapping, issue resolution, and action entry.

Dr Nitovi, Senior Medical Officer, CHC Jalukie, delivered the vote of thanks.

The one-day training was attended by Medical Officers, Community Health Officers, NCD nurses, General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) staff, and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM) from various health centers in the district.
