Mokokchung, 10 July (MTNews): A district-level workshop on U-WIN was successfully conducted on 10 July at the conference hall of the Chief Medical Officer’s office. The workshop aimed to train participants on the implementation and benefits of U-WIN, a digital solution platform designed to track the vaccination progress of pregnant women, newborns, children, and adolescents.

Dr Kibangkumba, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Mokokchung inaugurated the workshop. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of the U-WIN program, particularly for pregnant women, and highlighted its significant role in ensuring their well-being. Dr Kibangkumba also proudly announced that Nagaland was the first state in the country to conduct this training-of-trainers program.

 

Kingson Kamkara, the State Program Officer (SPO) from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Rajesh K Monsang, the Regional Program Officer (RPO) from UNDP, and Dr Takosunep, the District Program Officer (DPO) of Universal Immunization Program & Reproductive Child Health (UIP&RCH), were the resource persons.

 

The participants were trained on U-WIN, objectives of pilot, guiding principles and expectations, advantages of a digital system, case study and hands-on practice and the different Modules related to it.
