The District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) meeting for the 8th Economic Census was held on 18th June 2025 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Room, Mokokchung. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS.

In his address, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of extending full logistical support for the successful conduct of the Economic Census. He also stressed the need to create public awareness and sensitize the public about the significance of the census.
District Economic & Statistics Officer, Mokokchung, Aoluen, briefed the members on the objectives and methodology of the 8th Economic Census. He informed that the census would make use of advanced Information & Communication Technology (ICT), enabling geo-coded data collection through mobile devices, real-time data validation and scrutiny, and interactive MIS dashboards for monitoring and supervision.
The census will focus primarily on the non-agricultural sector engaged in the production or distribution of goods and services (excluding those for own consumption). Establishments involved in crop production and plantation, public administration, defence, compulsory social security, illegal activities, and activities of territorial organizations will not be covered.
The meeting also discussed the requirement of manpower, including IT personnel, identification of master trainers, supervisors, and enumerators for the upcoming census in the district.
