The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) sealed the Government Middle School (GMS) Midland today, February 28, in protest against the Department of Health & Family Welfare’s occupation of classrooms. The Union stated that they will continue to seal the dispensary until the issue is resolved.

Hinoto P Aomi, President of the DNSU, expressed the Union’s commitment to standing with the student community, saying, “We will lock down the dispensary until the issue is resolved.” He emphasized the need to respect the sentiments of the student community.

The DNSU had previously issued a seven-day ultimatum to vacate the school the previous week. The Union had raised concerns over the Health Department’s illegal occupation of the classrooms at GMS Midland to set up a dispensary. Despite an order from the Education Department to vacate the premises, the dispensary remains operational, continuing to disrupt the learning environment for students.

The DNSU has called for the immediate relocation of the dispensary and urged the authorities to take swift action to protect students’ rights.
