Mokokchung, 1 December (MTNews): The Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has appealed to the public, particularly those living in the vicinity of the Doyang Bridge, Governor’s Camp, and Liphanyan, to cooperate with a technical advisory. The advisory mandates the complete closure of Doyang Bridge until December 20, 2023, including a restriction on two-wheelers, due to ongoing rectification work.
The NFHRCC further notified travelers from other districts planning to use the Doyang Bridge via Merapani and vice versa. “The use of light vehicles may be considered based on technical advice from the concerned department in view of the Christmas season,” it added.
However, it added that the use of heavy vehicles will be completely stopped for at least another 45 days until rectification works, including the wing walls, are completed. In this regard, the NFHRCC has endorsed RALH and YAPO to coordinate on the complete adherence to the travel advisory until such time that all rectifications are completed and the bridge is deemed fit to allow heavy vehicles to ply.
