The District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Dimapur convened its first meeting of the year at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, addressing several key developmental agendas concerning infrastructure, public services, and administrative matters.

One of the major decisions taken was the relocation of the Iconic Project under Dimapur-I A/C. The board approved the change in location and forwarded the proposal for further government approval.
The meeting also reviewed society registrations, approving Jingkhu Welfare Society and Word of Faith Ministry, which will now be processed by the concerned department.
The Transport Department presented a PowerPoint briefing on key safety initiatives, while the Health & Family Welfare Department and Economic & Statistics Department were scheduled to present their reports in the next meeting.
Regarding road expansion, the board deliberated on widening the road at West Yard Colony, connecting Hokishe Sema Road and Marwari Patti Road. To facilitate this, the administration will write to the Army authorities at Rangapahar for necessary clearance.
To address the ongoing shortage of non-judicial stamps, which has been affecting the public, particularly students, the board highlighted that despite 55-56 licensed vendors, many operate without proper shops, leading to frequent shortages. To mitigate this: Surprise inspections will be conducted to ensure vendors operate from designated locations; The board also discussed the possibility of making non-judicial stamps available digitally to improve accessibility.
Additionally, the board decided that DPDB meetings will be held on the 20th of every month, with meetings rescheduled to the next working day if the date falls on a holiday.
Meanwhile, the renaming of St. Anthony’s School to Potentia School, Nagarjan, Dimapur, and the registration of Tsunshiso Cultural Society were deferred to the next meeting for further discussion.
The meeting concluded with discussions on streamlining the distribution of non-judicial stamps and ensuring strict compliance with licensing regulations.
