The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for April was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Zunheboto, on April 6. The meeting was chaired by DPDB Vice Chairperson and Deputy Commissioner, Dharam Raj.
Addressing members, the DC stated that this would be his last meeting in the district following his transfer to Tuensang. He reviewed previous agendas, including registration of societies under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The proposal for SBAK Aizuto was approved and forwarded, while a proposal to establish a Sub-District Industries and Commerce Centre at Suruhuto was discussed. N. Toky Chishi stressed proper consultation and feasibility assessment.
The DC emphasised adherence to procedures and strengthening the DPDB’s role in planning and coordination. He appreciated the eco-tourism initiative “1st Satoi Connect” by the Forest Department.
Obed Bohovi Swu highlighted conservation efforts and future plans. The meeting also reviewed education outreach, infrastructure needs, and departmental programmes. (With DIPR inputs)
