The District Planning and Development Board Meeting for October 2024 was held today, 9 October 2024, under the chairmanship of NLA speaker & Chairman DPDB Mokokchung, Sharingain Longkumer, at the DC’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung.

While reviewing the status report of capital assets from the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Sharingain Longkumer raised the issue of the absence of a Trauma Centre in the district. With the increase in vehicles and commuters, the chairman emphasized the importance of establishing a Trauma Centre to provide immediate care for patients suffering from major traumatic injuries, such as falls and motor vehicle accidents, thereby saving lives through timely intervention. He requested the concerned department to submit a proposal so that it can be materialized in the coming days.

The chairman also asked the PHED department to provide a detailed report at the next meeting regarding the failure of water sources and to suggest alternatives to discuss and find solutions for the water scarcity in the district.

Status reports on capital assets were presented by the Departments of Art & Culture, Urban Development, Electrical Division, Taxes, Health & Family Welfare, District Institute of Education Training, Land Record & Survey, and PHED.

The proposal for the construction of a Multi-Utility Complex at Chungtia Village, Mokokchung, was approved and forwarded to the government for further action. The Department of Social Welfare gave a PowerPoint presentation.
