The monthly District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for Mokokchung District was held on 15 November 2025, at the DC’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung, under the chairmanship of Nuklutoshi Longkumer, MLA & Chairman, DPDB Mokokchung.

The meeting commenced with a minute of silence to pay tribute to the late Advisor, Imkong L Imchen.
Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, DPDB Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, welcomed the new members to the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner also acknowledged the contributions of the late Advisor, Imkong L. Imchen, to the district and the state. He stated that his contributions to the state over his long and illustrious career in public service would be remembered for years to come.
The agenda began with the review of the previous meeting minutes, which included preparations for the upcoming 25th edition of the Dr T. Ao Trophy, to be hosted by Mokokchung District next year. On NIKSHAY MITRA, the DC encouraged members to adopt TB patients to support treatment for a minimum period of six months, in any form of assistance they can provide. He also urged all departments to work collectively to ensure the holistic development of government schemes and achieve positive outcomes. The DC emphasized that cultivated areas, water conservation projects, and irrigated areas need to be identified and properly recorded.
The house approved the registration of Riongsanger Cultural Society, Mokokchung; the upgradation of Chuchuyimlang Block to Sub-Divisional status under the Agriculture Department; and a proposal for the construction of a godown at Chuchuyimpang Town for storage and distribution of food grains, which were forwarded to the concerned departments for necessary action. The board also decided to acknowledge and award the best-performing and innovative officials to encourage cooperation and healthy competition among the various departments.
The DPDB meeting coincided with the celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, observed on 15 November to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. In this regard, a PowerPoint presentation on the celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas was delivered by Ajay Moktan, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, Mokokchung. Ajay provided a detailed presentation on the contributions, courage, and sacrifices of tribal (Janjatiya) communities in the nation’s history and freedom struggle. He emphasized the objectives of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, including recognizing India’s rich tribal heritage and highlighting the contributions of tribal freedom fighters to foster pride among tribal communities. He also detailed key activities observed, including initiatives under DAJGUA, ADI KARMAYOGI ABHIYAN, and Jan Sunwai (people’s hearing), a grievance redressal mechanism (GRM) that aligns governance with citizen-centricity.
The District Planning Officer, Mokokchung, N Chuba Phom, informed the board that the Advent Christmas 2025 programme would be held at Metsuben Resort, Chuchuyimpang, Mokokchung, on 5 December 2025. The District Agriculture Department, Mokokchung, also presented a PowerPoint highlighting departmental activities. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the Deputy Commissioner.
Later, the MLA & Chairman, DPDB Mokokchung, along with the DC, Sr SP, ADC, and other officials, inspected the ongoing construction site of Dr Imkongliba Memorial Hospital to review the progress of the work.
