This marks the first time that the Chairman of the YMCA-NEIR has been elected from Nagaland, a significant milestone for both the state and the YMCA community.

The installation and swearing-in ceremony for Dr Sema and other members of the newly elected YMCA-NEIR Regional Committee took place on January 25, 2025, at Mizoram House, Cleve Colony, Shillong. The event was attended by various officials of YMCA-NEIR, as well as delegates from all YMCA chapters in good standing across the North East region.

During the ceremony, JR Myrboh, Chairman of the Nomination Committee, announced the names of the new office bearers and committee members. The oath of office was administered by the Most Revd Dr P Lyngdoh, Bishop of the Anglican Churches, Diocese of North East India.

Following the formal installation, the newly elected committee convened for their first meeting, where key agendas were discussed, and resolutions were passed for the upcoming session. The program culminated with the dedication and inauguration of a new office vehicle for YMCA-NEIR, an occasion presided over by the outgoing Regional Committee Chairman and National Council Member, Dr R Lalthangliana, former Minister of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Mizoram.
