Chandigarh defeat Jammu & Kashmir 3–0 but miss out on semi-finals
Chandigarh concluded their group-stage campaign in the Dr. Talimeren Ao Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier 2) with a 3–0 win over Jammu & Kashmir in Match No. 18 in Chümoukedima on Saturday. Despite a strong performance marked by attacking clarity, midfield control, and solid defense, Chandigarh fell short of qualifying for the semi-finals.
The first half was tightly contested, with Chandigarh holding 55 percent possession and Jammu & Kashmir 45 percent. Both teams maintained disciplined defensive setups, limiting clear chances.
Chandigarh had seven shots off target while Jammu & Kashmir managed just two attempts on goal, both saved comfortably.
In the second half, Chandigarh increased the pressure and broke the deadlock in the 67th minute when Kajal calmly finished after a well-executed through ball. Seven minutes later, Alisha doubled the lead by capitalizing on a defensive error. Kajal scored her second goal in the 81st minute, securing the 3–0 victory.
Although Chandigarh finished the group stage with three points and an improved goal difference, earlier results prevented them from advancing to the semi-finals.
