In two Group D matches of the Dr. Talimeren Ao Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier 2) played in Chümoukedim on November 25, Maharashtra and Mizoram recorded convincing wins against Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh respectively.
Maharashtra secured a 2–0 victory over Madhya Pradesh in Match No. 7. From the start, Maharashtra dominated possession with 71 percent, controlling the game’s pace. Ipshita opened the scoring early in the 4th minute with a precise finish, followed by Sharvari’s strike in the 13th minute to double the lead.
Madhya Pradesh struggled to create opportunities and managed only one shot on target throughout the match. Maharashtra maintained strong defensive discipline and created numerous chances, recording 13 shots on target and nine corners. The game was largely clean, with only one yellow card issued to Maharashtra. The team’s composed performance put them in a strong position as the championship progresses.
Later in the evening fixture, Mizoram delivered an even more dominant display against Himachal Pradesh in Match No. 8, winning the match 8-0. Controlling 86 percent possession, Mizoram dictated the game’s tempo and applied constant attacking pressure, registering 32 shots on target. Himachal Pradesh could only manage a single attempt on target and had limited possession at 14 percent.
Mizoram’s attacking line featured multiple goal scorers, with Loisy standing out by scoring a hat-trick. Other goal scorers included Nunpuii, Mawipuii, and April, contributing to Mizoram’s comprehensive win. The team also earned 13 corners, reflecting their territorial control. Mizoram’s strong performance establishes them as a leading contender moving forward in the tournament.
