Madhya Pradesh cruise; Maharashtra and Mizoram share dramatic 3–3 draw
The Dr. Talimeren Ao Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier 2) delivered another exciting day of action on November 23 at Chümoukedima, with two contrasting fixtures in Group D showcasing both dominance and resilience on the field.
In the first match of the day, Madhya Pradesh registered a commanding 5–0 win over Himachal Pradesh in Match No. 3. From the opening whistle, Madhya Pradesh controlled proceedings with 62 percent possession and constant attacking pressure. Their superiority was reflected in 14 shots on target, as the side continued to challenge the Himachal defense throughout the match.
Trusha Parmar opened the scoring in the 6th minute, followed by a composed finish from Nitya Phulre in the 15th minute. Komal Saket extended the lead in first half stoppage time as Himachal Pradesh managed just one shot on target in the entire match.
The second half brought more of the same, with Bhariga Thevar scoring in the 77th minute and Akshra Kanojiya sealing the win in the 90+6′ minute. The result announced Madhya Pradesh as strong contenders in the tournament with a balanced and clinical performance.
The second match of the day, Match No. 4, witnessed a thrilling 3–3 draw between Maharashtra and Mizoram, offering one of the most gripping contests of the championship so far. Both sides shared 50 percent possession, and the game swung dramatically until the final whistle.
Maharashtra struck first through Aanshi in the 6th minute and doubled the lead in the 30th minute through Aarna, but Mizoram pulled one back through Nunpuii in stoppage time before the break.
Mizoram equalized in the 72nd minute via Mawipuii, only for Maharashtra to regain the lead in the 90+4′ minute through Aanshi’s second goal. Mizoram refused to concede, however, and Loisy struck in the 90+6′ minute to secure a memorable draw. Both teams showed intensity and character, leaving fans with a match to remember and a point each on the table.
