As preparations intensify for the upcoming 24th Inter-District Football Championship – Dr T Ao Trophy 2025, members of the Organising Committee called on Nagaland Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday to brief him on the arrangements for the prestigious tournament.

The delegation was led by Convener and MLA Kevipodi, Co-Convener and MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, Deputy Commissioner of Kohima Henok Buchem, Nagaland Football Association (NFA) President Neibou Sekhose, and Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) President Mathew Yhome.

During the meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Office, Dr. Rio reviewed the preparations for the tournament and conveyed his full support and best wishes for the successful conduct of the event.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister posted: “Met and interacted with the @NagalandNFA, Kohima District Football Association, and the organisers of the upcoming 24th Edition of Dr. T Ao Trophy (Inter-District Football Championship). I wish them a successful tournament and extend my best wishes to the players and officials.”

The Dr T Ao Trophy 2025 is being organised by the Nagaland Football Association and hosted by the Kohima District Football Association, powered by the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Kohima.

The tournament, scheduled to take place at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, will run from August 1 to 15, 2025, and will see participation from 17 districts across Nagaland vying for the coveted trophy.
