A three-day Faculty Development Module on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for faculty members of government polytechnics in the state was organised by the Directorate of Technical Education Nagaland from March 5 to 7, 2026, at the DTE Conference Hall in Kohima.

In his welcome address, Director of Technical Education Er. Vipulhou Lhoungu encouraged participants to make the most of the training programme and emphasised the importance of staying updated with emerging and rapidly evolving technologies such as AI, irrespective of one’s academic background.

A total of 18 faculty members from various government polytechnics across the state participated in the programme. The resource person for the technical sessions was Debasish Sahoo, Senior Full Stack .NET Developer, cloud and database specialist, and technical trainer at Euphoria GenX, Kolkata.

During the three-day programme, participants were introduced to practical and day-to-day applications of various AI platforms and tools. The sessions also covered structured prompting techniques and key components of effective prompts aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency in teaching and academic-related tasks. The programme sought to equip faculty members with practical knowledge of AI tools and methodologies that can support modern teaching practices and improve academic delivery in polytechnic institutions across Nagaland.

The valedictory session was addressed by Joint Director Er. David Tsela, who encouraged participants to integrate AI tools into teaching and research to enhance educational outcomes and continue exploring and adopting advanced technologies in their academic pursuits.
