The Dimapur Town Nepali Baptist Church (DTNBC), Duncan, celebrated the AGBCN Youth Sunday on September 21, 2025, during its devotion service at 9:30 am under the theme “Passing the Torch” (2 Timothy 2:2-4).
The service commenced with a praise and worship session led by the Youth Ministry, followed by an opening prayer offered by Mr. Thomas Sangma. Youth Sunday was observed simultaneously by every Gorkha church across Nagaland under the Association of the Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland (AGBCN).
Youth Pastor Mr. Kamal Sharma delivered the sermon, stressing the importance of faith, perseverance, and mentorship. He urged parents and church leaders to live impactful lives that influence youths and to pass on the faith, responsibility, wisdom, and service they have received from Christ. He further encouraged the youth to hold the passed-on responsibilities faithfully, drawing from Luke 9:62.
The service featured a special number by the Women Ministry, followed by a performance by the Father’s group, which added to the joyous celebration. Miss Maria Ngullie served as chairlady while Miss Sonia Rai led the offertory prayer. Mrs. Dilu Gurung offered a special prayer for the youth and the AGBCN Youth Department, preceded by a Bible verse from Proverbs 22:6, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
Scripture readings were shared by Miss Rachel Magar in Nepali and Miss Litika Singh in English, both from 2 Timothy 2:2-4. Ushers Miss Nelly Thapa and Mr. Sudeep Gurung collected the offertory.
The program concluded with a benediction prayer by Pastor David Thapa, who recited, “For I am already being poured out like a drink offering.” The event inspired the congregation to continue nurturing and guiding the youth in faith and service.
