The District Youth Congress (DYC), Mokokchung, has issued an official clarification strongly refuting a social media post made by the NDPP Mokokchung Region on May 26, 2025, which claimed that the DYC had been dissolved and its former president and office bearers had joined the NDPP.
Calling the statement “entirely false and misleading,” the DYC said in a press release that the post, which included a photograph, “falsely claimed that the former DYC President and office bearers, led by Mr. Temsu Jamir, had dissolved the District Youth Congress and joined the NDPP.”
“We categorically deny this claim as entirely false and misleading. It appears to be a deliberate attempt to gain attention and popularity through the spread of misinformation,” the statement read.
The DYC clarified that Temsu Jamir had been removed from his position due to internal issues. “Mr. Temsu Jamir was found to have demonstrated a lack of transparency in financial matters and was involved in unethical financial practices in District Youth Congress Mokokchung office,” it stated.
As a consequence, the DYC said that “under the guidance of our District Youth Congress Mokokchung In-Charge, Mr. Sanglipong S. Pongen, NPYC General Secretary (Organization), and with the unanimous decision of the house, Mr. Temsu Jamir was impeached and subsequently tendered his resignation from the District Youth Congress, Mokokchung.”
The DYC reaffirmed that it “remains active, resilient, and fully functional.” The organization added that “under the visionary leadership of committed grassroots youth leaders, our organization continues to uphold its core principles and remains dedicated to serving the people with integrity and purpose.”
The clarification was issued by Imtisunep Ozukum, President (Incharge), and Sayangpong Jamir, General Secretary (Administration), of the DYC Mokokchung.
