The Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH) has expressed deep condolences to the family of Muwalong Sangtam and Thsidiba Sangtam, the two brothers who lost their lives in the landslide at Penli Ward, Mokokchung, on July 29, and announced financial assistance for the bereaved family.
In a condolence message addressed to the President of the United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP), the organisation expressed grief over the deaths of Muwalong Sangtam, 19, a Class XII student, and Thsidiba Sangtam, 16, a Class XI student of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School. The two were sons of Merenba Sangtam of Alisopur village.
“On behalf of the Eastern Sumi Hoho, we extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and share in their grief during this painful time,” the organisation stated.
ESH said it prayed that Almighty God would grant the family strength, comfort and peace as they endured the irreparable loss.
As a gesture of sympathy and solidarity, the organisation also announced a financial contribution to the bereaved family.
Conveying its condolences once again, ESH prayed that God’s “unfailing love, peace and grace” would sustain the family during the period of mourning and concluded with the message, “May the departed souls rest in eternal peace.”
