Eba Eüv Ki: Chungtia Senso inaugurates community building in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, 11 March (MTNews): Chungtia Senso Mokokchung Town (CSMT) inaugurated the ‘Eba Eüv Ki’ community building at Arkong Ward on 9 March, with Nokchasashi, Joint Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, gracing the occasion as the inaugural guest. Named ‘Eba Eüv Ki,’ the building is a collective property of Chungtia community and will also be open to anyone for bookings.


In his address, Nokchasashi lauded the efforts of past and present leaders of Chungtia village for their dedication in completing the project. He highlighted the resilience and unity embedded within the Naga community, emphasizing the interconnectedness that binds their social fabric.

However, amidst the celebration, Nokchasashi expressed concern over the proliferation of social organizations within Naga society, noting their reliance on individuals’ support, which can strain the already fragile state economy. He urged for a collective effort in addressing this issue to ensure sustainable growth.

Moreover, Nokchasashi emphasized the urgency of water conservation, citing projections of dwindling freshwater resources by 2050. He called upon the village council to prioritize awareness and responsibility regarding water conservation, particularly among the youth.

The event was chaired by Tsükjemwati Hoki, while short speeches were delivered by Lanusangba Longchar, President of CSMT and Bendangnukshi Jamir, Chairman of Arkong Ward. N Bendang, Chairman of Chungtia Village Council, also provided valuable insights during the program.

Construction committee report was presented by its convenor, Limatsüba. The vote of thanks was extended by Imtiwapang, Secretary of Chungtia Senso Mokokchung Town.
