The State Bank of India (SBI) has handed over comprehensive details pertaining to Electoral Bonds to the Election Commission of India (ECI). These details include the unique identification numbers of the bonds, which are crucial for tracking purchasers and the political parties redeeming them.
The provided information encompasses various facets such as the serial number, URN number, journal date, purchase and expiry dates, purchaser’s name, prefix, bond number, denomination, issue branch code, issue teller, and status for bond purchasers. Additionally, details of political parties redeeming the bonds include serial number, encashment date, party name, last four digits of the account number, prefix, bond number, denomination, pay branch code, and pay teller.
The EC has uploaded all the data on its website.
“The Election Commission of India has uploaded the data on electoral bonds on its website as received from SBI on “as is where is basis”. The data as received from SBI can be accessed at this url: www.eci.gov.in/candidate-politicalparty,” said the poll body.
The Supreme Court had earlier directed SBI to disclose all electoral bond details, including the unique identification code, by 21 March.
