Kohima, 25 February (MTNews): The Ministry of Education has written to all states and Union Territories, requesting them to ensure that the age of admission to Grade 1 is 6 years starting from the 2024-25 session. This aligns with the provisions outlined in the National Education Policy 2020 and the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009.
In its letter dated the 15th of this month, the Department of School Education and Literacy emphasized that the upcoming 2024-25 session is approaching, and it is expected that states and Union Territories have adjusted the age for admission to Grade 1 to be 6 years.
