The Inter-Church Battle of Bands, “Beat of Glory”, concluded successfully at the State Academy Hall, Kohima, on Friday, bringing together 11 church bands in a celebration of faith, worship and musical talent.
Organised by the Youth Ministry of Yimkhiung Baptist Borü Kohima under the theme of worship through music, the competition required each participating band to perform the common song, God’s Design (BOW), along with one original composition.
The programme was hosted by Runshito Lims, while the invocation was offered by T. Wongtokiu, Pastor of Yimkhiung Baptist Borü Kohima. Faith Band performed as the guest band.
After a closely contested competition, El Gibor from Nepali Baptist Church Kohima emerged as the overall champion and received a cash prize of Rs 70,000.

The Most Promising Band award went to DCY of Yimkhiung Baptist Borü Kohima, which received a cash prize of Rs 30,000.
Individual honours were also presented to outstanding musicians. Imkong of Affinity from Naya Jeevan Baptist Church was adjudged Best Keyboardist, Danrito of DCY received the Best Drummer award, Novin Gurung of Nepali Baptist Church Kohima was named Best Bassist, Akhum of DCY won Best Guitarist, and Kiukhum of The Ablaze from Yimkhiung Baptist Borü Church received the Best Vocalist award.
The programme concluded with a benediction by Wongso, Church Clerk of Yimkhiung Baptist Borü Kohima, followed by a photo session with participating bands and award winners.
