The National Helpline for Senior Citizens, Elder-Line 14567 Nagaland, celebrated its 4th anniversary on 28th September 2025 at its office at C.K Office Complex Building, Kohima.
The program was chaired by Elder Line Connect leader Kevitsonuo Shüya and commenced with the invocation prayer pronounced by Kanili Lohe, Children Pastor, SABCK. This was followed by a speech by Program Manager Akali Sema, who urged people to spread awareness about Elderline so that better treatment could be provided to senior citizens.
Further, she stated that ELDERLINE – 14567, a toll-free number implemented by the State Social Welfare Department, operates seven days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM. The vision of Elderline is to connect and engage with senior citizens and facilitate happy and healthy ageing by serving them with honour and compassion. Its mission is to make a positive impact on the lives of the elderly by creating a reliable national helpline that acts as a platform for redressing grievances and providing necessary information and intervention.
She informed that the Elderline Connect Centre received a total of 6,357 calls till August 2025, more than 500 Senior Citizens Cards were made available to the elderly, and 28 destitute elderly were allocated in Old Age Homes.
The program concluded with short speeches delivered by IT Leader Lesel Neikha and Call Officer Rokono Tetso.
