The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to launch ECINET, a new platform designed to simplify electoral processes for voters, election officials, political parties, and civil society. This one-stop platform will combine over 40 existing mobile and web applications, making it easier for users to access all electoral-related services in one place.
The initiative follows consultations with Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) across the country and various election officials. ECINET is expected to benefit nearly 100 crore electors and over 10 lakh election officials, significantly reducing the complexity of managing multiple apps.
The platform will feature an improved user interface and experience, enabling easy access to relevant information and services. ECINET will replace apps like Voter Helpline, Voter Turnout, cVIGIL, Suvidha 2.0, Saksham, and KYC, which together have accumulated over 5.5 crore downloads.
The platform will be accessible on both desktops and smartphones, making it easier for stakeholders at all levels to enter and retrieve important data. Only authorized officials will be able to input data, ensuring accuracy. In case of any discrepancies, primary data from statutory forms will take precedence.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar highlighted the significance of this development at the Conference of Chief Electoral Officers in March 2025. “ECINET is a major step toward modernizing election management and making it more accessible and efficient,” Kumar said.
The platform is currently undergoing testing for smooth functionality and security. It is expected to be launched soon, marking a major shift in how elections are managed in India.
