Mokokchung, November 28 (MTNews): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) has informed that it has received an invite from the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to a meeting scheduled for December 3. The meeting is to be held at 4:00 PM at North Block, New Delhi. An 11-member delegation of ENPO will meet Shah to raise their bifurcation bid, it is reported.

Meanwhile, the ENPO has appealed to the apex Church associations of the 7 eastern Naga tribes to initiate special prayers for the meeting with the Union Home Minister. “We continue to request our anointed spiritual leaders to initiate a special prayer program covering all churches under respective associations on that very day at 4:00 PM,” ENPO stated in a letter addressed to the Executive Secretaries of CBLT, KBCA, KBBB, PBCA, USBLA, TBBA and YBBA.

ENPO also requested the Executive Secretaries to “make a similar request to all bona-fide members of Eastern Nagaland to take out 5 minutes time at 4:00 PM to say a special prayer wherever one may be.”

It may be mentioned here that the ENPO has called to boycott the assembly elections in Nagaland early next year if their demand for a separate ‘Frontier Nagaland’ state is not fulfilled.
The ENPO has also decided not to participate in the annual Hornbill Festival in the state which will begin on December 1.
