Mokokchung, October 22 (MTNews): Reiterating the demand for Frontier Nagaland state, the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) in a fresh notification stated that the ENPO has reaffirmed its 24th August, 2012 resolution to reject any form of ‘special economic package’ both by the center and the state other than a full-fledged statehood.
No matter what offer and redressal may be instituted in response to ENPO’s demand, the organization stated that it is “too late” as it has reached a “point of no return.”
Calling the Eastern Nagaland area “the most underdeveloped and deprived region of the country” which according to them is the “darkest corner and a black spot on the socio-economic and political map of the republic of India,” the organization stated that the only solution is to grant them full-fledged status of statehood.
“Granting and fulfilling the demand to achieve people’s aspiration to have a full-fledged statehood with special status and provisions to the people of Eastern Nagaland is the only answer,” the press statement concluded.
