Regarding the various media reports surrounding ENPO abstaining from Hornbill Festival 2022 celebration, an ENPO official confirmed with Mokokchung Times that the decision to abstain stands true and that it was a unanimous decision taken by the seven tribes of Eastern Nagaland.
“It is not a sudden decision because over the past few years people have been raising concerns over the difficulties people face during the festival such as travelling. Also, each district now has a mini-hornbill festival,” the official said.
