Mokokchung, November 28 (MTNews): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) will observe ENPO Black Day on December 4 and 5 in the entire eastern Nagaland by hoisting black flags.

 

ENPO on Monday in a press statement said that, following the gruesome murder of innocent public in Mon district of Nagaland by the Indian security forces on December 4 and 5 last year, it had on December 14 of 2021 resolved to declare December 4 and 5 as Black Day in the entire ENPO jurisdiction.

 

The resolution to this effect was made through a joint consultation meeting of all the federating tribal bodies and civil society organizations under ENPO in Longleng town, it added.

 

“Now, therefore, in compliance with the resolution adopted and as declared, we shall observe ENPO Black Day on 4th and 5th December in the entire Eastern Nagaland by hoisting a black flag in all the households,” ENPO said. It also requested its members to spend time saying a prayer to remember the departed souls and their family members and for peaceful environment to prevail in Eastern Nagaland region.

 

ENPO has informed the respective seven tribal bodies to disseminate the information to all the villages and towns for a meaningful observance of the day.
