Mokokchung, February 22 (MTNews): The Ministry of MSME, Dimapur branch, in association with Business Association of Nagas (BAN) organized a “One Day Entrepreneurship Awareness Program” at Whispering Winds, Mokokchung, on February 22.

The program was formally inaugurated by Tali Longchar, Joint Director of MSME-DI, Dimapur, and briefly introduced about MSME schemes and their importance for the students and youths of Nagaland.

The main objective of the entrepreneurship awareness program was to create awareness among youths in various areas of entrepreneurship as an alternative career option. The idea of organizing the workshop was to inculcate the key concepts of entrepreneurship and to guide the youths regarding various schemes available for unemployed youth which could be availed for self-employment.

During the first session of the program, M.B. Longkumer, Senior Advisor, MCCI, expressed his desire to encourage the youngsters in building themselves as individuals and to build a better society. The 76 year old businessman was later appointed as Patron for BAN Mokokchung Chapter.

A technical session followed the inaugural session; the resource persons during the session included Imtiwapang, Inspector, DIC Mokokchung, who spoke on the role of DIC for self-employment through PMEGP scheme in Nagaland. Hongba Phom, Executive Member, BAN, and a successful entrepreneur, spoke about the prospects for starting a new enterprise and motivated the participants by narrating his success story. Kreho Atili, Chief Manager, SBI, spoke on financial inclusion and literacy, and Achamo Erui spoke on financial schemes and MSME loan to existing and prospective entrepreneurs.

A welcome speech was delivered by L. Mongkum Jamir, President, BAN. The program ended with a short interactive session, followed by a vote of thanks by Myinthungo Ababe Ezung, Finance secretary, BAN.

Mokokchung Chapter of Business Association of Nagas (BAN) was formally launched after the program. Arenla Lemtur was elected as District Convenor for manufacturing, services, trading, agriculture and education sectors. M.B Longkumer was appointed as District Patron.
