As part of the NU–Start Up Project (2024–2026), Nagaland University organized an offline training programme on “Ethical Adoption of AI Tools in Academic Research”, led by Dr Chanlang Ki Bareh, Principal Investigator and resource person. The sessions were held across the Kohima and Medziphema campuses of Nagaland University, drawing enthusiastic participation from research scholars.

The first session, held on 6th November 2025, brought together 54 PhD scholars from the School of Agricultural Sciences, while the second, on 7th November 2025, engaged 62 Ph.D. scholars from the Schools of Humanities & Education, Engineering & Technology, and Management.

Through interactive discussions and demonstrations, Dr Bareh explored the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research – from literature review and idea generation to data analysis, visualization, and academic writing. He emphasized the importance of ethical practices, academic integrity, and transparency when integrating AI tools into scholarly work. The sessions encouraged participants to reflect on how responsible use of emerging technologies can enhance the quality and credibility of academic research.
