Evergreen Club Ungma defeated defending champions MH-10 Kohima in a five-set thriller to claim the 18th Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2025, played at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex. Evergreen Club Ungma made a remarkable comeback from two sets down to win the match 25–20, 25–22, 16–25, 21–25, 15–13.

MH-10 Kohima started strongly, taking the first two sets through disciplined attacking plays from Rishitemjen and Watinuken, supported by tactical setups from captain Tongpangsunep.

Evergreen fought back in the third and fourth sets, led by Wonglom, Mesu, Maong, and Bendang, turning the match into a tense all-deciding fifth set. Evergreen’s defensive coordination and counter-attacks eventually secured the 15–13 win, ending MH-10’s bid for consecutive titles.

In the semifinals, MH-10 Kohima advanced past Spadroon Club Chungtia 3–1 (24–26, 32–30, 25–15, 25–18), while Evergreen Club Ungma defeated United Changki 3–1 (25–8, 22–25, 25–15, 25–22) to set up the final.

The third-place playoff saw United Changki claim the spot with a 2–1 win over Spadroon Club Chungtia (26–24, 21–25, 15–12).

Individual accolades went to Limatenzuk (Best Setter, Evergreen Club Ungma), Bendangtemsu (Best Spiker, Evergreen Club Ungma), and Imlichuba (Player of the Tournament, MH-10).

Evergreen Club Ungma, established in 1966, now becomes the 10th team to lift the prestigious trophy.

During the final, a minor disruption caused by a section of spectators briefly halted play during the deciding set, but the match resumed soon after.

The Mokokchung District Volleyball Association announced that the 19th edition of the tournament is tentatively scheduled from November 3 to 6 next year.
