An exposure visit-cum-training programme for farmers from the IPM adopted village Rusoma was conducted at the School of Agricultural Sciences, Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus on March 17.

The programme was organised under the project “Establishment of Crop-Based Model IPM Villages for Promotion of Integrated Pest Management Technologies in the NEH Region of India,” funded by ICAR–NRIIPM, New Delhi. It aimed to enhance farmers’ knowledge and skills in Integrated Pest Management practices across various crops.

During the technical sessions, Prof Bireswar Sinha, Project In-charge and Professor, Department of Plant Pathology, demonstrated the preparation and application of Bordeaux mixture. Dr Kevineituo Bier, Assistant Professor, Department of Soil Science, spoke on the NPSS mobile application and its role in soil health management. Dr Bendangsenla Longkumer, Project Assistant, conducted a session on beneficial insects and pest management in citrus crops.

Farmers later visited the Plant Disease Museum, Insect Museum and Institute Museum. Scientific beekeeping was demonstrated by Thejaneilie Miasalhou.

Farm implements were also distributed to the farmers. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Waluniba.
